RmBridge is started with double-clicking the respective Icon on the desktop. The program checks at the start if there have already been any projects previously calculated. In this case it automatically opens the project database of the project that has been previously analyzed.

If no project has yet been analyzed or if the directory of the previously analyzed project has  been removed from the disk, the program directory remains active as project directory and the  user must first select the menu File and change the working directory to the desired  path or open one of the existent RmBridge projects.

If the user changes to an empty directory (i.e. one without RmBridge project database), the  program starts automatically the initialization process for the project database, where various general parameters like the unit system to be used, or the relevant design codes, can be defined.
